She completed her education from DAV School in Batala and then went to HMV College in Jalandhar for her graduation in Biotechnology. Nimrat loved acting since childhood but later developed an interest in singing. She studied classical music from Sushil Narang. Khaira participated in the singing reality show “Awaaz Punjab Di” in class 12 but was eliminated after being selected among the top 20 contestants. In 2012, she won the third season of the show “The Voice of Punjab”.

Nimrat started her singing career in 2015 with the duet song “Rabb Karke” with Nishwan Bhullar. Next, she released the single “Ishq Kacheri” and gained widespread popularity. Later, Nimrat released a number of Punjabi songs such as “SP De Rank Wargi”, “Salut Wajde”, “Taanvi Changa Lagda”, “Rohab Rakhdi”, etc. and became an instant hit. She has lent her voice to several films including “Dubai Wale Sheikh” in the film “Manje Bistre”, “Akhar” in the film “Lahoriye”. Some of her popular songs include “Suit”, “Designer”, “Brobar Boli”, “Ranihaar” and “Tohar”.
She made her acting debut in 2017 by playing the role of “Harleen Kaur” in the Punjabi film “Lahoriye”. In 2018, she played the leading role in the film “Afsar” opposite Tarsem Jassar.
