Nineties star unrecognisable 30 years after his iconic number 1 hit

The catchy tune catapulted the pair to stardom, topping the UK singles chart for two weeks.

It was the first release from their debut album Duophonic and by far their most successful.

At the time, Eddie sported long raven curls in a poker style.

The star, now 60, often sported hoop earrings, silver rings and a long-line black leather coat.

He often wore all-black clothing for a dramatic look.

Still, now Eddie can’t look any different.

Gone are the long locks in favor of his natural gray hair.

He kept some length by styling the top into spikes.

He also has a mustache and a silver hammer beard.

Leather coats have been replaced by a wardrobe of patterned shirts, trendy hoodies and sunglasses.

Eddie’s career also took a different path.

He became a photographer when Charles sadly died of cancer in 2001.

However, at the beginning of this year he returned to music, releasing his second album Sundown.

Just last month, he celebrated his jubilee 60th birthday and posted an emotional message to his fans on Instagram.

He wrote: “Thank you all for the lovely birthday wishes.

“I had no idea what 60 years would look like when I was younger, but it was the most joyous, love-filled year of my life.”

We recently reported that nineties boyband star Jade Jones had given up her Damage fame for a completely different career.

He is best known for being the lead singer of the 90s boy band Damage, and is married to Spice Girl Emma Bunton (47).

The R&B group sold more than 2.6 million records worldwide with singles such as Wonderful Tonight, which reached number three in the UK charts.

Damage broke up in 2001 before reuniting in 2014 for ITV2’s The Big Reunion.

However, he replaced the stage with the kitchen, became a chef, and got a job at the five-star Claridge Hotel.

Jade’s change of carer comes after the 1990s Britpop star looked completely unrecognizable following her band’s bitter split.

Meanwhile, we recently reported that American rocker Dan Spitz has swapped his role as guitarist in the metal band Anthrax for a career as a watchmaker.

The Nineties hitmaker also swapped pop fame to retrain as a mental health nurse – much to the surprise of fans.
