Olive Garden Responds After Woman Finds Mysterious Letters on Breadstick: 'We Are Concerned About This'

A woman dining at Olive Garden encountered an unexpected situation regarding the restaurant’s popular grisini.

The diner — who shared her experience on TikTok in a Nov. 16 post — revealed that one of her chopsticks appeared to have the letters “O” and “K” etched into it along with the number “6” in a neat, dark font.

“People, why are the letters on my grisin in an olive grove”, she wrote over a picture of a half-eaten piece of bread, tagging the restaurant as well.

Olive Garden was quick to respond to the post, which had more than 4 million views by Dec. 1. “We are concerned about this. Can you send an email to [email protected] with your full name and the location you went to?” – wrote a representative of the restaurant chain in the comments.

The TikTok user then shared a follow-up post on November 20, revealing that the company had since sent her a $100 gift card. She captioned the post “Thank you, Olive Garden”, with a sound effect of ominous laughter.

Several TikTokers offered theories in the comments on the post about what caused the clear dark letters. “It’s from the plastic bag they come in,” wrote one person who identified herself as an Olive Garden employee. “And when they sit in the freezer for a while, that can happen.”

Another user agreed, comparing the phenomenon to temporary tattoos and explaining that the moisture probably caused the ink from the bag to transfer to the breadcrumbs before it was baked. “It’s like doing tongue tattoos with Fruit Roll-Ups,” they wrote.

As for the company’s response, many social media users approved. “Olive garden is NOT playable,” one user commented.

“That’s a good service,” wrote another.

In 2013, the company introduced its “bottomless breadsticks” option — as in, endless breadsticks — along with its bottomless salad. He’s also focused several holiday campaigns around customer favorites, including the 2020 “Bouquet of Grissin for Valentine’s Day.”
