ACTRESS Olivia Munn has been diagnosed with breast cancer.
The actress announced her diagnosis in an emotional post on social media on Wednesday, revealing that she had undergone four surgeries, including a double mastectomy for the aggressive cancer.

Munn, 43, revealed that in February 2023, she and her sister took a genetic test that checks for 90 different cancer genes.
The actress was ecstatic after they both tested negative for all cancer genes, including breast cancer, “We called each other and high-fived each other over the phone,” Munn wrote.
However, in April, Munn was diagnosed with breast cancer.
A biopsy revealed she had Luminal B cancer in both breasts.
Luminal B is an aggressive and fast-moving form of cancer, according to breastcancer.org.
“In the past ten months, I’ve had four surgeries, spent so many days in bed I can’t even count, and I’ve learned more about cancer, cancer treatment and hormones than I ever could have imagined,” the actress told The Newsroom.
“Surprisingly, I only cried twice. I guess I didn’t have time to cry.
“My focus narrowed and I put away any emotions that I felt would interfere with my ability to stay clear-headed.”
A PRIVATE BATTLE
Munn revealed that she kept her battle a secret and only let others see it when she had the energy.
“I had to catch my breath and get through some of the hardest parts before sharing,” she said.

Munn thanked her doctor who discovered the cancer after deciding to calculate her breast cancer risk score just in case.
“The fact that she saved my life,” he wrote.
Thirty days after her diagnosis, Munn underwent a double mastectomy and went from “feeling completely fine one day to waking up in a hospital bed after a 10-hour operation the next day.”
Munn thanked her family, friends and longtime lover, John Mulaney, for their support during her health battle.
“I am so grateful to John for the nights he spent researching what each surgery and medication meant and what side effects and recovery to expect,” she wrote.
“Because I was there before I went into every operation and was there when I woke up, always putting framed photos of our little boy Malcolm so it was the first thing I saw when I opened my eyes.”
‘I WAS VERY OBSESSED’
Munn and Mulaney, 41, have been together for three years following his split from ex-wife Anna Marie Tendler, to whom he was married for six years.
The couple was first photographed together in June 2021, but they have kept the details of their relationship under wraps.
In September 2021, Mulaney confirmed that Munn was expecting their first child, Malcolm Hiep, who was born in November of that year.
In a 2015 interview with HuffPost, Munn spoke about her first awkward conversations with Mulaney, whom she met at a wedding two years ago.
“We were at a wedding together and I said, ‘Oh, my God, do you and your fiancée want to go out to dinner or something and hang out?'” she said at the time.
“It was cool at first, but then I kept coming to his wedding and saying, ‘So, are you having fun?’ I was so obsessed with hanging out and talking with him.”
Munn, who played Psylocke in 20th Century Fox’s X-Men: Apocalypse, revealed that she even emailed him after the event to try to stay in touch with him.
“He never responded by email,” Munn joked. “Maybe I got the wrong email, probably. That’s what I’m telling myself.”
Munn and Mulaney made their first public appearance in January during the Governors Awards red carpet in Los Angeles.
However, the couple’s first public appearance caused controversy on social networks.
Photos of the pair were posted on the pop culture board Reddit, where fans discussed the controversy surrounding how the pair began dating.
One critic wrote: “The fact that she followed him to the wedding he was with Anna (they were engaged) and emailed him afterwards because she was ‘obsessed with hanging out and talking to him.’ I’ll never like it.”
“Yeah. Even Ariana Grande didn’t brag about meeting her new boyfriend while he was with his wife,” commented another.
A third person noted: “She wanted to be another woman as soon as she saw John so badly.”
