Olivia Munn Jokes She Can’t Sit Down in Her Fendi Gown as She and Boyfriend John Mulaney Head to 2024 Oscars

Fashion always trumps function when it comes to Olivia Munn’s red carpet glamour.

Before arriving at the 2024 Oscars X-Men: Apocalypse the actress (43) teased a bit about her and John Mulaney’s dressing. The two looked extremely glamorous in their tailored looks, which were matched in every way but one: practicality.

In a hilarious Instagram video taken in the backseat of a car before the event, Munn joked that she was wearing a “standing dress.” The column silhouette of her dress seemed to make it impossible for the wearer to sit up – and we just wish her the best of luck while she’s at the ceremony!

Her chrome design, styled with Jimmy Choo shoes, also featured an asymmetric halter neckline and a floor-sweeping cape.

The clip then cuts to Mulaney, 41, comfortably ensconced in his sensible all-black tuxedo with a bow, giving him the relaxed but blasé title of “the guy who sits.”

Munn is no stranger to style mistakes, but she constantly keep your reality. In December, she modeled a sparkly sequined minidress for her followers. But as she walked away from the camera, it became clear that the dress didn’t quite fit her as the back was not fully closed.

Luckily, her red carpet fashion debut with Mulaney at the 14th Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences Governors Awards on Jan. 9 went smoothly.

Munn put her beauty on full display in a strapless metallic design paired with silver jewellery. Her hair was parted in the middle, like Oscars glamour, and her rosy cheeks and dark red lips drew attention. Mulaney wore another classic tuxedo with a bow tie.

The couple first sparked dating rumors in May 2021, shortly after Mulaney ended his relationship with his wife of six years, Anna Marie Tendler. The two were photographed together for the first time in June 2021, although they have kept many details of their romance under wraps.

In November 2021, they had a son, Malcolm Hiep Mulaney, who is now 2 years old. Munn took to Instagram to share snippets of life with their toddler alongside sweet photos of their family get-togethers. She recently shared a snap of her and Malcolm enjoying a day at the beach in seaside cuts with shades.

The 96th Academy Awards will air live on ABC from the Dolby Theater on Sunday, March 10, at 7:00 PM ET.
