Olivia Rodrigo is the grungy queen of the rock star pageant in her latest music.
On Friday, the Grammy-winning singer, 21, released visuals for her new single INTESTINES song “Obsessed” and inspires us to do the one thing hair professionals advise us never to do: cut our own bangs.
From breaking into the music scene with sourRodrigo has been experimenting with a lot of Y2K fashion, but when it comes to her hair, she’s mostly stuck to her middle-parted brunette — until now.
In the video, she has choppy pixie bangs that instantly turn her into a punk princess. Celebrity hairstylist Clayton Hawkins styled Rodrigo’s asymmetrical fringe (which was most likely spliced in) with softer long ’70s bohemian waves and two face-framing braids.
The singer also steps out in a gothic off-the-shoulder black prom dress with a sheer overlay, stocking booties and a ‘Miss Right Now’ belt as she moodily hums about her boyfriend’s exes who plague her every thought.

This wouldn’t be the first time Rodrigo wore bangs. She appeared on the red carpet at the 2023 Met Gala with Audrey Hepburn’s signature ‘do’ in a bun with a blunt Old Hollywood fringe on the side.
She further honored this year’s Karl Lagerfeld theme with a black and white striped Thom Browne dress. The design also featured split detailing on the lower part of the skirt and rosette embellishments.
