Omi Vaidya started his acting career with his debut film “Rolling” (2007), in which he played the role of “Assar”. His role as “Chatur Ramalingam” or “The Silencer” in the film “3 Idiots” (2009) is one of his most appreciated performances. Omi said in an interview that he was traveling in Mumbai when he auditioned for the film 3 Idiots, saying:
When I was planning to return to the US, one of my friends who was involved in 3 Idiots told me that they were auditioning NRI actors for a role. Considering that I don’t speak Hindi and don’t watch Bollywood movies, I wasn’t interested in auditioning. On top of that, the character hasn’t been written yet. During my audition, I had to say lines from the movie Lage Raho Munna Bhai. I was very bold and careless in saying my lines, mostly because I didn’t think I would get the part. I got the role on my way home from an audition. ”
In 2011, he acted in movies like “Dil Toh Bachcha Hai Ji”, in which he played the role of “Milind Kelkar”.
