Only Rihanna Could Pull Off a Custom Bathrobe-Inspired Gown: See Her Look

Only Rihanna can make a dressing gown look this chic!

While launching Fenty Hair exclusively at Selfridges in London on Monday, September 16, the 36-year-old beauty mogul stepped out in a custom Jacquemus cape-inspired look.

Styled by Jahleel Weaver, the Fenty founder looked both comfortable and fashionable in a buttery yellow off-the-shoulder fuzzy dress, which was complete with a thigh-high slit and, of course, a tie belt.

The custom creation appears to be a variation of the dress seen on the Isle of Capri runway earlier this summer as Jacquemus celebrated its 15th anniversary.

To add her own custom twist, Rihanna kept the look warm with matching yellow nails, gold heels, and neutral, glossy glamor—all Fenty Beauty, of course. She also added a touch of glamor with glamorous mixed metal jewellery.

For perhaps the most important part of her look at the luxury department store – her hair – she opted for Old Hollywood glamor with a sweeping side part and cascading, flowing waves.

And, according to the Fenty Hair Instagram, Rihanna’s hairstylist for the launch, Ursula Stephen, used products from the line to achieve the look, from her shampoo to the edge control gel.

Later in the evening, the “Umbrella” singer changed from a comfortable Jacquemus gown to a stunning John Galliano Spring-Summer 2006 gown.

The sheer nude dress with asymmetric frill details is taken from the One of a Kind Archive.

Along with the outfit change, the star also changed into metallic strappy heels, added a sparkly ear cuff and swapped her glossy brown lips for a bold red one.

Talking to Vogue at the Fenty Hair launch, Rihanna said that as long as her hair is “good,” she “can wear any outfit.”

“I could do it even without makeup. If my hair looks crazy, I feel like even if my makeup is bomb and my outfit is bomb, you’re not going to see past this,” she continued, gesturing with her head. “This here, that’s the crown.”

While her looks are almost always larger than life, Rihanna’s UK Fenty Hair launch kits come after a big look, even for her.

While stepping out in Santa Monica on Thursday, September 12, the Fenty founder turned heads with an oversized (like, seriously oversized) fashion accessory: an oversized Saint Laurent Niki shearling bag.

The fur bag, which retails for $7,200, made quite the statement as the singer kept the rest of her outfit fairly low-key with a white button-up, jeans and animal print boots.
