‘Operation Moonwalk’ rape probe into Andrew & Tristan Tate revealed by UK cops as brothers face extradition to Britain

British police have revealed that Andrew and Tristan Tate will be extradited to the UK as part of an ongoing investigation into allegations of rape and human trafficking.

The disgraced brothers were brought back to court in Romania after last night’s dramatic arrest as part of Britain’s “Operation Moonwalk” investigation.

Bedfordshire Police confirmed to The Sun that they are working with Romanian authorities to continue their investigation – but following the conclusion of proceedings, the brothers’ extradition to the UK has now been granted.

Self-proclaimed misogynists Andrew, 37, and Tristan, 35, were arrested in December 2022 on charges of human trafficking, rape and organized crime dating back to 2012 and 2015.

A year later, they are still awaiting trial – and deny all the charges against them.

Bedfordshire Police said: “As part of an ongoing investigation into allegations of rape and human trafficking, Bedfordshire Police obtained a European Arrest Warrant for two men in their 30s.

“We are working with authorities in Romania as part of this investigation and will provide updates in due course.

It also comes hours after four of Andrew’s accusers in the UK demanded officers stand down after claiming the former Big Brother contestant was planning to flee the country.

Dozens of Romanian police raided their £600,000 villa near Bucharest last night and took them into custody under a new UK warrant.

The Tates were brought back to court today to face extradition.

Hours after their appearance, Bedfordshire Police released a statement confirming the arrests as part of “Operation Moonwalk”.

They added: “We understand that this is an upsetting topic and that people may be influenced by what they see in the news.

“Bedfordshire Police takes all reports of sexual offenses seriously and further support is available via our website or by calling 101.

“Anyone with information about this specific investigation should call 101 quoting Operation Moonwalk.”

The brothers were held for 24 hours pending a decision on the British arrest warrant.

The brothers “categorically reject” all new accusations – and in the meantime they were released from custody.

Eugen Vidineac, a lawyer for the Tates, said: “This verdict provides an opportunity for the brothers to fully participate in their defense and for the legal process to proceed in a transparent manner.”

He also denied any allegations that Andrew was planning to flee the country.

Following his arrest last night, ex-kickboxer Tate posted a bizarre and cryptic tweet, writing “Matrix if afraid, but I only fear God”.

A Tate spokesperson initially claimed the influencer was arrested as part of a British investigation dating back to 2012.

He also stated that the charges were initially dismissed by the Crown Prosecution Service.

Speaking to reporters this evening, the smiling Tate brothers said they were “very happy” about today’s proceedings.

“We were saved by a Romanian judge,” Tristan claimed, referring to the judge’s decision that the brothers could be extradited to the UK after the Romanian case was over.

Then he became enraged: “The United Kingdom has now accused me of having done something for the Romanians 12 years ago to keep me here until my trial.”

Intervening after his brother’s remarks, Andrew bizarrely accused the UK of trying to “weaponize the Romanian courts” and claimed it had “failed”.

Their new arrest

After their first arrest last December, the Tate brothers were banned from leaving Romania.

They were initially held in prison before being released under house arrest and then under “judicial control” – which limits their freedom.

Four women in the UK threatened to sue Tate last June, accusing him of “violent rape, serious physical assault and controlling and coercive behaviour”.

Lawyers representing the women also revealed today that they had contacted British police – claiming Tate was planning to flee Romania.

Matthew Jury, managing partner at the law firm representing Tate’s accusers, said today: “Today’s news is very welcome as many were concerned that Tate would seek to avoid justice in Romania and abroad.

“We are grateful to the British authorities for taking our concerns seriously and issuing an arrest warrant.”

Now in their late twenties and early thirties, the women said the attacks took place in the 2010s when Andrew was living in the UK.

It is not clear whether allegations of sexual abuse made by women last year are linked to the investigation by Bedfordshire Police.

Who is Andrew Tate?

ANDREW Tate is an influencer and former kickboxer who once made a brief appearance on Big Brother.

He was born on December 1, 1986 in Washington, DC and spent time as a child in Chicago and Indiana before moving to England.

Tate started kickboxing in 2005 but became a public figure when he entered the Big Brother house as a contestant during the show which aired on Channel 5.

Since appearing on the reality series, Tate has gone on to gain millions of followers calling himself the “king of toxic masculinity.”

He caused outrage in September 2017 when he said that depression is not a real illness.

Later that year, he shockingly claimed that women should bear “some responsibility” for rape, following allegations against disgraced Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein.

Tate has several other business ventures, including Hustler University and a series of casinos that he owns with his brother Tristan.

On June 20, 2023, a Romanian court charged Tate with human trafficking, rape and the formation of an organized criminal group for the sexual exploitation of women.

His brother Tristan and two Romanian suspects have also been formally charged.

In August 2023, Tate won an appeal to be released from house arrest in Romania.

As of March 2024, he, his brother Tristan and two female suspects are still awaiting trial.

An ongoing investigation

Andrew and Tristan were charged by police in June as part of an investigation into sex trafficking.

They are accused of recruiting women on social media platforms and getting them to visit their villa on the outskirts of Bucharest.

Both allegedly pretended to fall in love with the women before forcing them to work for their jobs and forcing them to perform sexual acts on webcams.

Andrew and Tristan have both denied charges of human trafficking and rape.

Just a few months ago, they made another offer to return to the UK to visit their sick mother after she suffered a heart attack.

Andrew, 37, and Tristan, 35, tried to apply for an “emergency visit” to the UK – but were shot down.

Andrew has repeatedly denied any wrongdoing, saying he is a victim of something called the Matrix.

Controversial character Tate has already sparked outrage around the world for claims he has made on social media.

And later that year, he also argued that women should bear “some responsibility” for rape, following allegations against disgraced Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein.

He has been removed from X, formerly known as Twitter, on several occasions, and in January last year, the social media site announced that an account he created on the platform had been “confirmed in error”.

He has also been banned from YouTube, TikTok, Facebook and Instagram since November.

Tate runs his own online network called “The War Room” which is described as “an exclusive online network for men”.

Andrew and Tate previously won an appeal to be released from house arrest in Romania in August last year.

The ruling meant Tate, his brother Tristan and suspects Georgiana Naghel and Luana Radu could leave the house, but not the capital and the surrounding Ilfov district.
