At the 2024 Critics Choice Awards, Fantasia Barrino wanted to know, “Where are the lamb chops?”
Stars like Emma Stone, Paul Giamatti and the cast Purple were not served at the official dinner during Sunday night’s show hosted by Chelsea Handler. Instead, they munched on boxes of cookies and pizza that came in a bag.
Oprah Daily caught the moment which PurpleBarrino, Taraji P. Henson, Danielle Brooks and Oprah Winfrey (who co-produced the remake) served flatbread. In a video posted on Instagram, a server is seen handing out bags of pizza from a box hanging around her neck.
All four women had very different reactions to the meal. Barrino abruptly turned the camera and looked for something more substantial. Henson happily grabbed a slice and Brooks smiled with her pizza. Winfrey, however, skipped the food. She pointed to her mouth and said, “I will not stain my lips!”

Purple was nominated for best film, best acting ensemble, best costume design and best hair and make-up. Brookes is also nominated for Best Supporting Actress. The film didn’t take home a win on Sunday, but the cast is supporting each other on the red carpet and at events ahead of the film’s Dec. 25 theatrical release.

Paul Giamatti jokes about “going viral for eating a Cheeseburger” in his speech at the 2024 Critics Choice Awards.
“Wow guys, I didn’t think my week could get any better than going viral for eating a cheeseburger,” joked Giamatti, who was seen at In-N-Out with his Golden Globes after the Jan. 7 ceremony.
“Seriously guys, I need that approval. That’s why we’re all just praying for me,” he continued. “By the way, everyone gets pizza in a bag? I think that would be a good support. Paul Giamatti for pizza in a bag.”
