RESIDENTS of a posh village say their high street is packed with so many expensive supercars it looks like a car showroom.
Alderley Edge is part of Cheshire’s ‘Golden Triangle’ – a rich area of small towns and villages that also includes Wilmslow and Prestbury.

Luxury vehicles such as the Ferrari F40 – at around £1.2 million – are a common sight in Alderley.
Set in magnificent countryside, the area is known for its expensive houses, luxury shops and classy bars and restaurants.
Popular with wealthy Premier League footballers and celebrities, it has gained a reputation as a playground for millions and a place to see and be seen.
London Road, which runs through the center of Alderley Edge, is often lined with million-pound Lamborghinis, Ferraris and Bugattis, as well as luxury 4X4s and other cars.
Resident Martin Wroe, 42, says the posh lifestyle is a big draw.
“It’s a good place to live, but a lot of people come here from outside the area because they like the countryside and want to be part of the scene,” he said.
“There are lots of nice places to go out and eat, but some house prices are too high – a £600,000 house in Macclesfield will cost £1.5 million here.
“It’s common to see lots of supercars and 4x4s parked up – always kids taking pictures of them.
“Many of them belong to footballers, and I once saw Bruce Fernandez getting out of his car.”
He added that his friend spotted reality star Molly-Mae Hague “getting her hair done” in Wilmslow last week.

Maria Caunce, 47, who lives “in the country” in nearby Chelford, also said luxury cars are so common “kids keep coming to take pictures of them”, but not all of them belong to footballers.
“There are a lot of different people living here and everyone is very friendly,” she said.
“Some people work hard so they can buy their fancy cars.
“I know the area has a certain image, but I don’t see myself as a typical Cheshire housewife.”
But she added that her 10-year-old son’s school was “full” of Premier League star kids.

In Prestbury, where a bottle of wine or champagne in the restaurant can cost up to £750, Manchester City’s Kyle Walker and TV star Paddy McGuinness can often be seen.
John Read, assistant manager of the Legh Arms, said both had recently visited to enjoy the pub.
“Paddy came over a few months ago with his family for the Sunday roast,” he said.
“He loved it so much he posted photos on Instagram.”
John, 44, said he often spotted “a lot of fast cars” in the village and said people “enjoy spending money” in bars and restaurants.
One type of rosé wine – which costs £50 a bottle – has proved particularly popular with pub-goers.
“I worked in another pub outside the area and people would never pay those prices,” Josh said.
Simon Dunphy, 50, who runs The Coast restaurant over the road, said many locals – not just footballers – owned expensive cars.
“There are a lot of experts in the field, doctors, dentists and so on.
“But I see a lot of Burnley and Manchester City players, including Kyle Walker.
“Kyle is a good guy and part of the community.
“The footballers here are just locals and although there are a lot of flash clubs, many of them are also owned by other people.
“The most expensive Ferrari belongs to a Scouser who lives here.”
Simon added: “Some nights the footballers will be in the nearby Foxhole bar hanging out with old ladies and other villagers.
“It’s that kind of place.”
We live in the ‘poshest’ area of the UK where corner drinks cost FOUR THOUSAND pounds
By Freya Parsons
RESIDENTS living in the UK’s ‘poshest’ place are mingling with celebrities and royalty – while the local corner shop sells more than £4,000 worth of wine.
On average, flats around Battersea Power Station, in south-west London, cost a staggering £1.2m – but those who can afford it could see TV adventurer Bear Grylls retreating on the roof.
The Wild Weekends star has reportedly combined three properties into one to build a mega-apartment worth a whopping £20 million.
And locals boast of spotting other famous faces – including singer Sting – every day following the area’s £9billion transformation.
A worker at the Kasea power plant told the Sun that she works for a number of the world’s richest people – but otherwise remained tight-lipped.
She said: “I can’t tell you who I work for but it’s someone quite famous, but there are a lot of famous people who live here, especially at the power station.
“I even see one of them every day. I also see Bear Grylls and Sting.
“I’m lucky to work with people who are really front pages, even the Queen’s family.”
Kasea described seeing Grylls, 50 – who lives with wife Knight and their three children – sweating above his luxury home.
She said, “Yesterday he was doing pull-ups on the roof, which I could see very clearly.”
Meanwhile, the appeal of the area means that even those who have since moved away keep coming back.
The Battersea General Store takes full advantage of an affluent clientele, with MD Raj Bathia claiming to have served even world leaders.
The pride and joy of this 46-year-old is his selected wines, which shone in his eyes when he was asked about them.
And why not – some of them cost £4,250 a bottle.
Going into his expert story, Raj explained: “You have to spin it. Let it open, it was in the bottle. It was squeezed, it was tight inside.
“Give it a chance to at least breathe. Literally, let it breathe. Then spin it, enjoy it. Smell it. Give anything a little attention and you’ll start to see it in a beautiful way.”
He explained that he sees famous people “every day because a lot of them live here.”
“And then you have a lot of people who come and visit us specially,” he continued.
