S. Papalpreet Singh aka Pappalpreet Singh was born in 1985 (38 years old; as of 2023) in Majitha, Amritsar, Punjab, India. He attended a convent school. According to reports, in 2015, he obtained a three-year polytechnic diploma from the Central Institute of Plastic Engineering and Technology, Amritsar, Punjab. In 2007, two events changed Papalpreet’s life: Jagtar Singh Hawara and Balwant Singh Rajoana, who assassinated the former chief of Punjab. Minister Beant Singh was sentenced to death, Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh) wore clothes that disrespected the Sikh Guru. Guru Gobind Singh. In his speech, he even stated that Khalistan is the only solution to all problems related to Sikhs. Later, he was charged for organizing the Sarbat Khalsa. However, in 2018, the case was dropped on the recommendation of the bench of Justice Mehtab Singh Gill.

In 2016, he joined the Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar), an Indian political party led by Simranjit Singh Mann. Papapreet campaigned for Mann in the 2017 assembly elections. However, in the same year, Papapreet quit the party.

Papalpreet Singh founded Punjab Shield, a pro-Khalistani news website and a monthly magazine called Dharam Yudh . According to his mother, he was a panchayat member of the village.

Arrested by the police for various cases
In 2015, he was arrested for reading out the charge sheet against militant Narain Singh Chawla during the Sarbat Khalsa, the biannual Sikh review gathering in Amritsar. In the same year, he was charged under Section 107/151 of the Criminal Procedure Code for preventing Sikh activists from participating in a protest to be held at Dayanand Medical College and Hospital, Ludhiana.

In 2019, when Papalpreet Singh was fighting drug traffickers in his village, his group got into a fight with supporters of the traffickers. Later, a case was registered under Section 307 of IPC against Papalpreet and his gang members for attempt to murder. Later, Singh claimed that his name had been mistakenly implicated in the matter because he was sitting at home when the fight took place. He even asked the local police to remove his name from the FIR.
Four criminal cases were filed and investigated
In 2023, he was booked by the Amritsar police in four criminal cases. In one of the cases, the Income Tax Department issued a notice to Papalpreet in which he was marked as high risk – CRIU (Case Related Information Upload). He was also asked to explain the source of unaccounted income of Rs 4.48 lakh. The income tax department said Papalpreet is yet to file her tax return for the financial year 2019-20. According to media sources, in 2023, when Papalpreet and Amritpal were fleeing from the police, they deposited a bag with a woman named Baljeet Kaur in Shahabad of Kurukshetra (where they took refuge for a day) and Tell her someone will come to pick up the bag. However, before anyone else came to claim the bag, local police recovered the bag from the woman and recovered an income tax notice from her.

Hearing of habeas corpus plea filed by Iman Singh Khara, counsel for Waris Punjab De, before the Punjab and Haryana High Court on March 21, 2023 ( Unlawful detention or imprisonment), the Punjab government informed the court that it had invoked the National Security Act against the absconding Amritpal Singh and his aide Papapreet Singh.

According to reports, it was Papapreet who helped Amritpal Singh escape from the Punjab police, and he is also believed to be the mastermind behind Amritpal’s jailbreak. In CCTV footage, local police identified Papapreet and Amritpal Singh as escaping from various parts of Punjab and Haryana. On April 10, 2023, Papalpreet was arrested by the Amritsar Rural Police from Kathu Nangal in Amritsar, Punjab. Later, when arresting Paparpreet, the local police told the media:
He (Papalpreet) is the principal partner of Amritpal Singh. He was arrested from Kathunangal area of Amritsar. Papapreet has been detained under the strict National Security Act (NSA) and six other cases have been registered against him. We will take further legal action against him in accordance with the law. “
