Scooty, a dog with special needs, was showered with surprises for his 13th birthday.
A dog whose hind legs were paralyzed when she was hit by a car as a puppy celebrated her big day on February 27 with more than 100 balloons. The cute video shows the rescue dog excitedly barking and running around, bumping her nose against colorful decorations after being released into her living room.
The dog’s owner, who lives in San Diego, told Storyful: “People donated balloons from all over the world and I hand-wrote all their messages to Scooty.”
A few weeks before Scooty’s 13th birthday celebration, her owner posted a video from the dog’s 11th birthday party two years ago, for which she ordered 30 balloons.
– Look how happy she is! she wrote. – It was a hit, and she loved to pop all the balloons.
Scooty’s pet parent added that those who donated money for this year’s decorations will also contribute to the publication of a children’s book in honor of the canine character, in addition to getting the chance to see Scooty pop a balloon with their personal handwritten message on it.
The resulting videos have prompted many happy messages on Scooty’s TikTok account, which often shows her using a wheelchair for walks around the neighborhood. The account bio calls Scooty “the happiest dog on Earth.”
