Patty Loveless was born as Patricia Lee Ramey on January 4, 1957. She was born in the city of Pikeville, Kentucky. Despite this, she grew up in Elkhorn City and Louisville, Kentucky. Naomi and John Ramey, her parents, died in 2006 and 1979, respectively. Her father worked in a coal mine.
