Announcing the drummer, McCartney told the crowd, according to fan-filmed video, “The one and only Mr. Ringo Starr!”
When Starr arrived on stage, he hugged the “Maybe I’m Amazed” singer and said, “I want to tell you that I had a great night tonight.”
Then McCartney turned to his friend and said, “Shall we rock?”
The “Ever Past Present” musician reflected on the evening in an Instagram post on Friday, December 20.
“Thank you London! We’ve been all over South America and Europe and here we are home for the last shows of the ‘Got Back’ 2024 tour,” he wrote alongside a series of photos of himself, Starr and Wood from the gig
He also revealed that he had performed the night before with his original bass – which was returned in February 2024 after it was stolen in 1972.
“First performance on stage in 50 years… it’s my original bass! I haven’t played it in 50 years and what’s more, here’s a special guest, Rolling Stone: Ronnie Wood. And another surprise for you – the mighty, one and only, Ringo Starr , see you next time!” McCartney added.
