Paulina Gretzky and Dustin Johnson's Relationship Timeline

Paulina Gretzky and Dustin Johnson were married in April 2022 in Tennessee.

The eldest daughter of hockey legend Wayne Gretzky started dating the professional golfer in 2013. Two years later, Gretzky and Johnson welcomed a son, Tatum. Their second son, River, was born in 2017.

Although Johnson is a former world No. 1 with 24 wins on the PGA Tour, he admitted that his one true love changed after meeting Gretzky.

“For me, golf has always been the most important thing. And now it’s Paulina and the children,” he told za Golf week. “And they will always be the most important thing. Obviously, I love the game of golf and competing and playing. But they are the most important thing.”

Gretzky previously spoke glowingly of Johnson to PEOPLE following the birth of their first son in 2015, saying, “Dustin is the best dad. He’s my best friend. He’s been very supportive [of] me, and we’re just there for each other.”

Early 2013: Paulina Gretzky and Dustin Johnson start dating

Gretzky and Johnson reportedly began dating before the start of the 2013 PGA Tour season USA Today, and has become a frequent fixture at golf events around the world. Win or lose, Gretzky has always been a huge support system for her boyfriend — and it’s always been reciprocated.

August 18, 2013: Paulina Gretzky and Dustin Johnson became engaged

Following Johnson’s proposal in August 2013, Gretzky replaced her modeling pictures on Instagram with a special post, in which she flaunted her sparkling studded engagement ring.

“Never happier,” the model captioned her now-deleted Instagram post at the time, as she the fiance chirped, “she said yes!!!” August 18 of that year.

January 19, 2015: Paulina Gretzky and Dustin Johnson welcomed their first baby

Gretzky announced her pregnancy news on Instagram in September 2014, posting a photo of herself stroking her baby bump in a gorgeous maternity shoot. She gave birth to her first son, Tatum Gretzky Johnson, on January 19, 2015, making legendary hockey player Wayne Gretzky a grandfather!

“Paulina and I are happy to announce the arrival of our baby boy who was born in Los Angeles on Monday morning,” Johnson wrote in a statement. “Both Paulina and baby are healthy, resting comfortably and in great spirits! We truly appreciate the outpouring of love and support we’ve received and plan to release more details in the coming days!”

June 14, 2017: Paulina Gretzky and Dustin Johnson welcomed their second child

Gretzky announced the news of her second pregnancy on Instagram in February 2017, posting a photo of herself sitting on her bed with one hand on her baby bump and the other holding an ultrasound photo with the caption, “Baby Johnson #2.”

The happy couple welcomed their second child, River Jones Johnson, on June 14, 2017. Johnson announced the arrival of their second son with a photo of Tatum gently kissing his new brother’s head, writing, “So thankful for my family and new addition.”

September 11, 2018: Dustin Johnson addresses Paulina Gretzky breakup rumors

In early September 2018, Barstool Sports reported that Gretzky had removed all pictures of Johnson from her Instagram, sparking rumors that the couple had split.

Despite the rumours, Johnson has opened up about his relationship with his fiancee, chatter“Every relationship goes through its ups and downs, but the most important thing is that we love each other very much and are committed to being a family. Thank you for your love and support.”

September 28, 2018: Paulina Gretzky and Dustin Johnson Address PDA Breakup Rumors

Just over two weeks after Johnson tweeted about the status of their relationship, Gretzky made her own statement by sharing celebratory kisses with Johnson at the Ryder Cup in Paris after he won the first session with partner Rickie Fowler.

The golf pro claimed his second major win at the PGA Masters in December 2020, not only marking another PGA Tour victory for the athlete, but also a historic achievement. He posted a record 72 holes of 20 under for the lowest score in tournament history at Augusta National. His fiancee was the first to greet his success with a pat after the win.

November 29, 2020: Paulina Gretzky comforts Dustin Johnson after US Open loss

Johnson lost the 2020 US Open to Jordan Spieth on the 18th hole by just one stroke. After missing the shot, Gretzky comforted Johnson with a kiss and then handed him their son, Tatum.

In an exclusive interview with PEOPLE about his success on the golf course — including becoming the No. 1 player in the world after winning the Masters — Johnson talked about how Gretzky has supported his career.

“She’s a big supporter of mine…obviously, with golf or any professional athlete, and even work, you have to have someone to support you,” Johnson said. “I spent a lot of time away from home, or on the golf course, or traveling on the road, whatever it was. So you need that special person, especially with the kids, who does a great job and takes care of everything else, everything that I have to do is take care of golf.”

April 28, 2021: Paulina Gretzky goes wedding dress shopping for her wedding to Dustin Johnson

After a nearly 10-year long engagement, Gretzky began planning her big day in 2021. The model documented her wedding dress-shopping experience — which included a variety of white dresses, lace veils and bubbly champagne — on her Instagram story.

Oh, and did we mention that acclaimed fashion designer Vera Wang was also in attendance?

“Women empowering women at their best. Making my dreams come true. You are a queen and a friend @verawang, thank you ❤️,” she captioned a photo with Wang at The Mark Hotel after their time at the showroom.

The designer commented: “So excited for you. 👏👏👏👏👏. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️.”

February 27, 2022: Paulina Gretzky hosts a bachelorette party ahead of her upcoming wedding to Dustin Johnson

The bride-to-be hosted a lavish bachelorette party during the last weekend of February 2022, sharing photos of her friends in front of a private jet in glamorous gowns. They completed their look with matching rhinestone cowboy hats.

April 8, 2022: Paulina Gretzky supports Dustin Johnson at the 2022 Masters.

Gretzky stepped out in style to support her fiance during the first round of the 2022 Masters at Augusta National in early April. She wore a white mini dress with green detailing and coordinating sneakers as she watched Johnson, who finished 3-under on the opening day and tied for third.

April 21, 2022: Paulina Gretzky teases upcoming wedding to Dustin Johnson on Instagram

On April 21 and 22, Gretzky shared a series of wedding-related pictures and videos hinting that their big day is near.

One of the posts was a selfie with Gretzky’s sister Sara and bridesmaid Kristina Melnichenko, with the caption “I’m going to the chapel.” The next post was a clip of the bride-to-be getting off the plane with a classic wedding song playing in the background.

Gretzky also shared images of photo booth prints with the text “04.23.2022.” under the names of the bride and groom.

April 22, 2022: Paulina Gretzky and Dustin Johnson have ‘family night’ before wedding

The night before Gretzky and Johnson’s wedding, after nearly 10 years of engagement, Gretzky posted photos on Instagram of herself with her husband-to-be and sons at a pre-wedding family dinner.

Gretzky also showed off the decor, complete with white flowers and twinkling lights hanging from the trees above. “Family night,” she captioned the photo.

April 23, 2022: Paulina Gretzky and Dustin Johnson get married

After a nearly 10-year long engagement, Gretzky and Johnson tied the knot on Saturday, April 23, in a romantic wedding ceremony in Tennessee. They exchanged vows at the luxurious Blackberry Farm located about three hours outside of Nashville.

While not many details have been revealed about their private nuptials, a source told PEOPLE that the couple said “I do” in front of friends and family.

June 19, 2022: Paulina Gretzky wishes Dustin Johnson a Happy Father’s Day

Gretzky sent sweet wishes to her husband and her father on Instagram for Father’s Day. Her carousel post included a variety of black and white photos from her wedding day, including a sweet photo of her walking with her father, as well as a shot of Johnson grooming their son’s hair.

“Happy Father’s Day to these great men in my life and role models to my two boys ♡︎,” Gretzky wrote in the caption.

April 5, 2023: Paulina Gretzky caddies for Dustin Johnson during the Masters Par 3 event

Gretzky served as Johnson’s caddy at the Masters Par 3 Contest in Augusta, Georgia. The event is always held on the Wednesday before the Masters — and it’s tradition for the wives to carry their husbands. The model wore a white boiler suit, the official caddy uniform, emblazoned with “Johnson”.

March 4, 2024: Paulina Gretzky reveals how she and Dustin Johnson met

During an interview for the Golf.com YouTube series, The Scoopthe couple sat down to talk about life together, which led to Gretzky revealing that her mom, Janet Gretzky, was the one who introduced the couple.

“I didn’t want anything to do with him at the time, but there he was, the love of my life,” Gretzky admitted.

Their first date was at her house, which she called a “cold environment” for them to meet. “Honestly, it allowed us to be authentic where there wasn’t too much pressure,” she added.

June 22, 2024: Paulina Gretzky throws Dustin Johnson a cowboy 40th birthday party

To celebrate Johnson’s birthday, Gretzky threw her husband a cowboy-themed party with personalized tequila bottles, beer pong, fireworks and live music. The model shared photos and video clips from the boot-scootin’ bash on Instagram.
