Pedro Pascal Shows Off Lean Physique After Wrapping Playing Mr. Fantastic in Marvel's Fantastic Four Reboot

The The last of us the actor, 49, was spotted leaving the gym on Tuesday, January 7, looking noticeably trim after wrapping up filming on Marvel’s upcoming film Fantastic Four: Getting Started. In the new film, he plays Reed Richards, who becomes Mr. Elastic. Fantastic after he, Sue Storm, Johnny Storm and Ben Grimm are exposed to cosmic rays during a space mission.

In the new photos, Pascal wore a black T-shirt and black basketball shorts as he walked down the street.

Recording for First steps it ran from late July to late November 2024 at London’s Pinewood Studios, while additional scenes were filmed in Oviedo, Spain.

Marvel Studios revealed the cast via social media in February 2024.

“Happy Valentine’s Day from Marvel’s First Family! Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Ebon Moss-Bachrach and Joseph Quinn are the Fantastic Four,” the company captioned a Feb. 14 Instagram post.

The accompanying illustration shows the blue-clad actors as they gather in a living room, relaxing in various ways. A “Happy Valentine’s Day” banner was hung above them.

Kirby, 36, plays Sue Storm/Invisible Woman, while Quinn, 30, plays her brother, Johnny Storm/Human Torch. Moss-Bachrach, 47, plays Ben Grimm/The Thing.

All four actors, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige and director Matt Shakman attended San Diego Comic-Con to tease the film. At that time, Pascal called them his “new family”.

“I don’t think I’ve laughed so much during rehearsals before,” Kirby said of working with fellow British actor Quinn. “When you read the comics, you feel a lot of joy…we hope we can bring that to the movie.”

Pascal’s last screen role came in a film directed by Ridley Scott Gladiator IIsequel to the 2000 film starring Russell Crowe.

The Chilean-American actor played the Roman warrior Marcus Acacius opposite Paulo Mescal — who portrayed Lucio Vero, the son of the original GladiatorLucilla (Connie Nielsen) and the nephew of the villain Commodus (Joaquin Phoenix), who grows up to look up to Maximus (Crowe) as an idol.

In the July interview with Vanity Fair about his “brutal” fight scenes with Mescal, Pascal shared how he came up with the nickname for his costar.

“I call him Brick Wall Paul,” he said of Mescal, 28. “He’s gotten so strong. I’d rather be thrown off a building than have to fight him again.”

“Going against someone who’s in shape, so talented and so young,” Pascal said. “Besides Ridley being a total genius, Paul is a huge reason why I would subject my poor body to that experience.”

Fantastic Four: Getting Started arrives in theaters on July 25.
