Penn Badgley Embraces Viral TikTok Trend, Has 'Demure' and 'Mindful' Last Day Filming Season 5 of You

Penn Badgley feels very modest, very careful.

The Gossip Girl The alum embraced the viral TikTok trend during his last day of filming Your season 5 in New York. In an Instagram post in collaboration with Netflix, Badgley, 37, poked fun at the trend, documenting his last day on set.

“See me show up at work?” he begins the video by speaking directly into the camera, dragging a bunch of stuff. “Very humble, very careful.”

“I don’t really do too much when I’m at work,” he continued. “I’m very… observant.” The video then quickly cuts to him banging against the glass wall, screaming.

Badgley then mentions portraying a “romantic icon for five seasons” calling himself “humble” and “observant”. (As fans know, his character, Joe Goldberg, is a serial killer, so this description isn’t entirely accurate.)

He then mentions his gray tank top, saying, “See my shirt? It shows shoulders, not rocks.”

The clip harkens back to an August video of Jools Lebron, the creator of TikTok, talking about how she presents herself as “humble” at work. Demure is defined as reserved and modest, and that term has been taken over by the internet.

“See how I come to work? Very modestly, I put on make-up, put on a wig, weave a little braid,” she said in the video. “I iron my hair, I do chichis out, I do viral vanilla, very modestly, very carefully. Let’s not forget to be modest divas.”

Since the video appeared on TikTok, Lebron has been reminding followers to be “careful” and “considerate” in many aspects of life, such as manners on planes, ordering food and going to the nail salon. Now everyone, including Badgley, seems to embrace the terminology and use it whenever they can.

Netflix confirmed in a press release in March that the series has begun production on its fifth and final season, which promises “more exciting twists and turns.”

“Will Joe Goldberg finally meet his doomsday? Fans of the beloved thriller will soon learn more about Joe’s fate when YOUR returns for a fifth and final season,” the streamer teased in a press release.

Since then, Badgley has been photographed numerous times on set while filming the thriller series across New York.
