Peter Dinklage had a much better relationship with his off-screen Game of Thrones costar Charles Dance than he had on screen.

The actor (55) appeared in the last episode of the series Hot one on Thursday, Oct. 17, and talked about his time on the HBO fantasy show and the friendships he made with his co-stars.

The four-time Emmy winner explained to host Sean Evans how much he values ​​his friendship with his on-screen father, Dance. Dinklage played Tyrion Lannister and Dane, 78, played Tywin Lannister.

Evans, 38, asked if it was true that Dance was “so disgusted” by the way Tywin treated Tyrion that he “made a habit” of apologizing to Dinklage during filming.

“I love Charlie Dance, he’s one of my favorite human beings,” Dinklage began. The actor explained that Dance’s character only “humiliated me” and ultimately condemned Tyrion to death.
