Phil Schofield blasts ‘three s**ts in showbiz’ and talks of ‘utter betrayal’ by ‘fake people’ after his brutal ITV axing

ANGRY Phillip Schofield has blamed his downfall on a trio of ITV leading men — branding them the “three shits” of showbiz.

The TV veteran plays his new desert island documentary, in which he is seen sitting by a campfire.

Among those he appears to be targeting on Channel 5’s Cast Away — which starts tomorrow — is his former This Morning co-host Holly Willoughby.

This Morning’s second editor is thought to be Martin Frizell — who Phil blames for letting him take the “Queuegate” attack, when he and Holly were accused of squeezing in to see the Queen lying in front.

Other targets could include ITV boss Dame Carolyn McCall.

Phillip, 62, was forced to leave This Morning after 22 years following a relationship with a much younger man.

Speaking about his 40-year TV career, he says: “They know how important it was to me.

“They know that when you throw someone under the bus, you have to have a really good reason for it. Brand, ambition is not good enough.”

He continues: “People can be fake. They can be so fake with you when everything is going well, and suddenly a complete, utter betrayal.

“There are a lot of amazing people on morning television.

“I think there are only three shits. One of them is a coward who never stood in line.

“One is a coward, because they never came forward when they beat me, and the other is just focused on the brand.

‘Coming out caused me more anxiety than joy,’ says Phillip Schofield

“Not what you expect, not what you think you’re going to get.”

While researching his former management company YMU, which still represents top TV talent, Phillip discovers that he was fired via text.

He says: “I was suicidal and they sent me what looked like a cut and pasted text, ‘This time we have to let you go’.”

Elsewhere in the three-part film which sees him spend ten days alone on a small island near Madagascar, Phillip hints that the show is his showbiz swansong.

He says: “They took almost everything. Reputation, dignity, legacy, everything.

“I’m not bleating, I’m just getting off my chest. And anyone who’s outraged about that, frankly, can fuck off because I don’t care. I quit.”

Holly, 43, shrugged off the controversy yesterday, celebrating the third birthday of her wellness company Wylde Moon.
