And as Holly, 42, returned from her summer break, her old co-star pulled off his shorts and went to his local boozer.

Phillip was spotted leaving The Roebuck in Chiswick after a three-hour lunch, wearing black sunglasses.

He was wearing a white T-shirt with an illustration by Charlie Mackesy, author of The Boy, The Mole, The Fox and The Horse.

The reporter checked his phone and a frown on his face as he stepped out into the suburbs.

It follows reports that she is considering a return to television and publishing a memoir three months after the affair scandal.

Phillip was recently pictured enjoying a night out in West London with former This Morning co-star Vanessa Feltz, and The Mirror reports that he could be interested in following her on Talk TV.

A source said: “Phil has really kept his head down since leaving This Morning. Losing his entire career in a matter of weeks hit him hard and he needed time to recover. And now everything is still very raw for him.

“But in the last few weeks he has started to consider offers and consider what his next steps might be. When he met Vanessa earlier this month, she suggested talking to Piers about Talk TV and he was open to it.”

Although he was reportedly ready to talk to firebrand Piers, the source added that Phillip would not be in a rush to take the next step.

And before he hits the screens again, a juicy memoir is likely to be published, giving Phillip a chance to tell his side of the story.

He is understood to have had preliminary talks with publisher Hodder & Stoughton about taking a deep dive into the scandal that has left his career in the dust.

A source said: “He made it clear in the conversation that he would love the opportunity to tell his story in full and sort of draw a line under what happened, but that he wouldn’t do it without his family’s approval.”

The Sun contacted representatives of Phillip and Hodder & Stoughton at the time.
