Phillip Schofields will replace the British Soap Awards after leaving This Morning and ITV.
Singer and TV presenter Jane McDonald will host the show. This 60-year-old man is famous for hosting Channel 5 Traveling with Jane and has also made several appearances on Loose Women.

Jane said in a statement: “Oh my gosh….everyone knows how much I LOVE my soaps, this year I had the honor of appearing in Corrie, EastEnders and Emmerdale so this is just a dream come true. I can’t wait to see all of our lovely soap candidates and celebrate with them all their hard work – taking home the prize, I can’t wait!”
She added on Twitter: “So excited to host this year’s British Soap Awards!! I LOVE my soaps so this is a dream come true. Can’t wait to see all of them! our beautiful soaps are nominated and let’s celebrate all their hard work – keep going! Tuesday, 8pm, @ITV & @ITVX.”

Fans were quick to express their excitement on social media, with one person writing: “Jane McDonald’s award show is great news”, while another added: “Jane McDonald instead So Phillip being the award show host was the acting decision of the year! Everyone’s real woman! Her time has come.”

The ceremony will take place at The Lowry in Salford on Saturday, June 3, but will be broadcast on ITV and ITVX on Tuesday, June 6.

The show will celebrate the biggest national soap operas, s Coronation Street, The Doctor, EastEnders, Emmerdale And Hollyoaks struggled to be recognized for his work over the past year.
It comes after Phillip Schofield left ITV after admitting an affair with a younger colleague on This morning. He was also dumped by his talent agency YMU.

Phillip, 61, said he was “deeply sorry” for lying about his relationship with ITV, colleagues, friends and agents.

In a recent interview with GB News’ Dan Wootton, former This morning star Eamonn Holmes claimed there was a “complete cover-up” of Phillip’s affair on the show.
“It was a complete cover-up,” he said.

“The people in power must have known what was going on and thought they would dodge a bullet with this thing, that’s what they do and do all the time.”
Afterward This morning criticized for claims of “toxicity”, Phillip defended the program. “I hope you notice that the same few people get annoyed with me or the show seems to be the loudest,” he said.
Eamonn addressed the comments in his interview, saying: “I think Phillip is absolutely right about the toxicity.
