  • Disney animated series Phineas and Ferb will return for new episodes starting in 2025.
  • The original voice cast, including Vincent Martell and David Errig Jr. as the title characters, appeared alongside the show’s creators at New York Comic-Con.

This is a great day because Phineas and Ferb he’s almost back.

At Comic-Con in New York on October 17, the cast and creators of the beloved Disney series gathered to reveal what fans can expect from the new season of the show. They also shared a look at the new episodes: a photo showing Phineas, Ferb and their friends on stage.

Co-creators and executive producers Dan Povenmire and Jeff “Swampy” Marsh — who also voice Dr. Heinz Doofenshmirtz and Major Francis Monogram — appeared at Comic-Con alongside cast members Vincent Martell, David Errig Jr., Ashley Tisdale, Caroline Rhea, Dee Bradley Baker and Alyson Stoner. Martella voices Phineas and Errigo voices Ferb, the two half-brothers whose summer adventures are the main theme of the series. Tisdale voices their sister Candace, Rhea voices their mom, Baker voices Perry the Platypus, and Stoner voices Isabella.

Back in 2023, Disney gave the green light for 40 new episodes of the series — which will air on Disney Channel and Disney+ in 2025.

Martella shared how excited he is for the series to return. “We’ve always heard rumors that something might happen just because we have such a fantastic fan base for the show,” the 32-year-old actor said. “But it’s really hard to believe that something like that will happen, especially after you finish the project. It’s pretty rare that you get the chance to come back and do new seasons of a show.”

Marsh, 63, said of the new episodes: “One of the most fun things about doing more of these episodes is that we now have the freedom to explore characters more fully that we didn’t get to the first time around.”

Povenmire, 61, teased: “It’s really kind of liberating. It feels very new and fresh, but it still feels like a show.” His goal is to make the gap invisible, he added; if you watched the show’s fourth season, which ended in 2015, and this new season back to back, you wouldn’t necessarily notice.

“We just want to give you the show you love and just get more out of it,” he explained. “But it feels kind of sublime because there’s so much energy in the room.” The fifth season will take place just one summer after the events of the last episode.

“There are stories we’ve wanted to tell for a long time that we never got around to,” Povenmire explained. “There are things that we said, ‘Hey, we’ve never done an episode like this,’ and we tried to do it a few times and finally figured out a way to do it that worked in our universe.”

Povenmire also shared a little about the new music that will be featured in the episodes. “The songs we’re writing for the new season might be our favorite songs we’ve written so far,” he said. “I think we’re making a new season that you’re going to absolutely love and we can’t wait for you to see it.”

The cast also used the board to express their appreciation for the series. Tisdale, 39, said: “It’s my favorite job,” and Stoner, 31, agreed, adding: “And I’m not just saying that because I want to stay employed.” Marsh revealed that Rhea, 60, would often call producers after coming across fellow actors and pitch them as guest stars.

“This was definitely the most important thing I’ve ever worked on,” Martella said. “It means a lot to me that so many people are here now and people still love this series and these characters. And yes, Phineas has been a part of my life longer than most things… He’s half my life now, 17 years. It’s a long time to know someone.”
