Piers Morgan has revealed he’s been in contact with Phillip Schofield since he left This Morning, offering a disturbing update on Phillip’s situation following his decision to leave the show after 20 years.
Writing about ITV culture for his column in The Sun, Piers confirmed that he likes both Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield, calling Holly an “ambitious, tough cookie, brand defender” . He continued: “Phillip is not the evil monster he is painted with, nor the angel his former halo reputation suggests.”

While discussing the mixed reaction to his passing, he continued: “One thing is for sure, what happened to him is further proof of the brutality of the stabbing. behind the scenes in the world of daytime television makes even the simmering political cistern of the city of Westminster look like an oasis compared to loyalty.”
He added: “It’s brutal to watch, but again, totally unsurprising.”

The presenter, who has left ITV in 2021 after refusing to apologize for his comments about Meghan Markle, also revealed that he has spoken to Phillip, adding: “ITV hasn’t even been give him a chance to say a decent goodbye to his adult, the loyal audience after 21 years considers me unnecessary insolence and I know he’s heartbroken over it because he said it himself with me.”
ITV’s director of television, Ken Lygo, paid tribute to Phillip, saying: “There is no doubt that Phillip is one of the best broadcasters of his generation and we thank him. him for two decades of absolutely brilliant television on the This Morning couch.”
Piers to leave GMB in 2021
Following Phillip’s departure, Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary released a brief statement about his departure, saying: “We cannot start the show without paying tribute to him. with the man who’s spent the last two decades on the sofa. Quite simply, we all know he’s one of the best broadcasters this country has ever had and we’re all together. The team wishes him the best.”
Dermot added: “As a show, everyone on and off screen wants to give a big thank you to Phil for what he’s done to make the show a success over the past 21 years.”

Others have come forward to defend the star, including his co-star Rochelle Humes. Posting a snapshot of them on Instagram Stories, she wrote: “I’ve been proud to be part of the This Morning family for almost 10 years and over the past few years it’s been a pleasure to learn a lot from you guys. Thank you guys. you for all the lessons – you are the source of love, knowledge and laughter.”

Speaking on his news program on Monday, Eamonn spoke of the situation, saying: “Oh, please, stop this. He’s been fired.” Then, Isabel Webster asked, “Was that stabbing him in the back?” Eamonn later called Phillip’s co-star Holly Willoughby a “fake” and said she had “stabbed” Phillip in the back.
