Bookworms get a sweet treat.
Pizza Hut is giving away one million free personal pan pizzas in honor of the 40th anniversary of its Book It! program: reading initiative for students. Whether you go to school or not, pizza lovers of all ages can get free.
Customers can get their free six-inch pizza with an $8 purchase by entering the promo code “BOOKIT40” when ordering online. The offer is available for the month of October (or until one million pizzas are purchased) in honor of the one-year anniversary of the pizza chain’s reading program and National Book Month.
Pizza Hut launched Book It! program back in 1984 and estimates that more than 1.5 billion pizzas have been given to readers through its initiatives. In the past 11 years alone, the pizza chain has given out 56 million personal pan pizzas, according to a press release.

Starting Sept. 20, Big Cheez-It will be available for solo purchase for $1 so customers can “create their own Syrian innovations at home,” according to a press release.
Additionally, the Big Cheez-It Crunchwrap Supreme has been revamped since it was last available. The menu item has the usual Crunchwrap ingredients — beef, nacho cheese sauce, lettuce, tomatoes and sour cream — but now has two Cheez-Its in the middle instead of just one. The item, which is wrapped in a baked flour tortilla, costs $5.50.
The Big Cheez-It Tostada uses a jumbo cracker instead of a crunchy tostada. The Cheez-It is then topped with beef, lettuce, tomatoes and sour cream and costs $3.
