His last will was signed in October 2022 and he left everything to his wife of seven years his junior, Jessica Irwin.

Documents obtained by The Sun show the bold presenter had £956,967 in assets, reduced to £953,425 after deductions.

The will was signed on Saturday by the probate court in Newcastle, where he moved from his native Leicestershire.

The BBC and Channel 4 legend rose to fame hosting A Place in the Sun from 2004 to 2021.

The long-running show has helped house hunters find forever homes in their dream vacation destinations abroad.

He was chosen from hundreds of applicants to host the series alongside Jasmine Harman and has appeared in over 200 episodes.

He also hosted the BBC daytime show Escape to the Country from 2010 to 2023.

The star’s life changed when he was diagnosed with terminal cancer in 2020 – a week after his vision blurred during filming in Italy.

The cancer later spread to his brain and in 2022, Jonnie discovered he only had six months to live.

Jonnie continued to work after his diagnosis, making a living through his television appearances and private consultations.

He has also written for A Place In The Sun magazine and headlined live tours around the UK.

But he later claimed that after telling Channel 4 production bosses about the terminal illness, he was dropped from all roles in the show.

The star revealed to The Sun that Freeform Productions “paid me off for the rest of the season and didn’t renew my contract.”

He added that the scorn left him “really low,” and Freeform later claimed it was because they couldn’t get insurance to work.

The TV hero married Jess in 2016 after they met through mutual friends, and remained together until his death.

The couple found out about Jonnie’s cancer in 2020 – just two months before Jess gave birth to twins Rafa and Cormac.

Their oldest child, Rex, was still a toddler at the time.

Despite his terminal diagnosis and the fact that he only had six months to live, Jonnie lived for almost three years.

He attributed the extra time to changing his diet and cutting out junk food and snacks.

It comes days after a memorial cricket match drew thousands of people to honor the late star.

His friends organized a match at Gumley Cricket Club in Leicestershire, where the Place In The Sun frontman has played for years.

Last Saturday’s game raised money for ALK Positive, a charity that helps people with lung cancer.

In June, the star’s devastated widow revealed how she held Jonnie in his final moments as he listened to their children play.

Jess, 41, told of the “f***** awful process” of his last few days and how he told family members: “I’m so sorry to leave you all.”

She said: “You hear people saying ‘he passed away peacefully’. It was nice, but it wasn’t for Jonnie.

“It was a terribly horrible process. I wish I hadn’t seen it, but I had to be with him.”

“I’m still struggling with what he went through.

“I can’t imagine what it’s like to know your time is up and hear the noise of your three sons kicking a football in the driveway; you can smell the food cooking downstairs.”

She described how Jonnie was “surrounded by love” at his home in Newcastle, rather than a hospice, and had around 30 visitors who came to say goodbye to him in his final days.

Jess also opened up about the moment she told their three children about their dad’s death.

She said they kept the children “blissfully unaware” of their father’s battle, before telling them he had been “taken to heaven by angels”.
