A passenger shares her rather unpleasant flight experience.
A woman under the username @erinrempel recently posted a video on TikTok documenting her fellow passengers invading her legroom on an airplane. Set to the sound of someone screaming titled “Woman Rage”, the video shows the woman’s legs sandwiched between the legs of passengers sitting on either side of her.
One of her male colleagues had his legs spread to the point where his leg brushed against hers. The user captioned her video: “Why would anyone EVER need that much space? I tried to get him to move but he wouldn’t.”
She also included a reference to “manspreading” in her title, which Merriam-Webster defines as “the act or practice of a man sitting with his legs spread wide (as in a public seating area) in a manner that interferes with the space of others.”

The woman later added a note: “Just want to clarify there was plenty of leg room, I’m 6’2 and my legs can still fit, that man was at least 5 inches shorter than me, it was about being wild recklessly.”

The video has garnered almost 40,000 comments, with many people expressing anger at the cramped passenger seating arrangement.
“Girl you need to say something,” one person wrote. “They don’t have to be too much – if you’re nervous, call the flight attendant.”
“The way I would scream. Please stand up for yourself,” advised another.
Another person said: “Please just own your space. Take it. It’s YOURS 🔥.”

Many shared their own experiences with human sprawl, while offering advice on how to combat it.
“Yes, this happened to me and I am alone [slung] my leg over the top of a stranger and he was very space conscious after that,” someone wrote.
Another person said: “I pushed off and it became a pressure challenge and my thighs were on fire for the rest of the flight. I know his were too.”

One commenter praised the passenger for showing so much patience in such an uncomfortable situation. “At that moment I start acting like a little kid kicking a chair 😭. I admire your patience ❤️❤️,” they wrote.
Many people agreed that travelers just need to speak up and not accept such reckless behavior.
“Just a polite ‘excuse me, can you move a little bit? I don’t have room to move my legs. Thanks,'” suggested one commenter.
