“Sparkling like a glittering eye,” the Dawn Stone is an Evolution Item in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet that Trainers will need to evolve specific pocket monsters into their superior forms. While objects like the Water Stone are relatively straightforward with their possible location, the label “Dawn Stone” is somewhat vague and might confuse players as to where such a resource could be found. Nevertheless, for clarification, the spawn rate of these stones has nothing to do with the time of day, despite their name. Furthermore, they are not available for purchase at the Delibird Presents vendors across Paldea, making them quite scarce to obtain.
Fortunately, there are multiple ways to get Dawn Stones in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet, two of which are one-time but guaranteed finds. The first is a location in West Province (Area Three), northwest of Medali. If Trainers explore the grassy hills of this area, they will eventually encounter a small ruin, where a Dawn Stone can be found in a Poké Ball on the ground at the middle point of a crumbled wall shaped at a 90-degree angle.
Finding Dawn Stones in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet
Another guaranteed location of the Dawn Stone in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet is within the rocky ridges of East Province (Area Three), northeast of Levincia. According to PowerPyx, the glowing Poké Ball with the stone can be found on the plateau near the ravine river separating the mountain ridge from the grassy area to the north. These two guaranteed Dawn Stones are sufficient to evolve their two correlating pocket monsters. However, suppose Trainers wish to try their luck at acquiring more Dawn Stones. In that case, there are some RNG-based methods, such as gathering from the glinting nodes in the areas northwest of Zappapico or within the general West Province (Area Three), locations suggested by Game8.
PowerPyx also states that the Auction House in Porto Marinada can also randomly feature a Dawn Stone as a possible item up for auction in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet. Nonetheless, keep in mind that this location does not become accessible until the Open Sky Titan in West Province (Area One) has been subdued. Trainers will need to have their pocket monsters attain Level 19 or higher to engage in this Titan boss battle. Once Trainers have all the Dawn Stones they need, they can give them to the following Pokémon to perform their exclusive evolutions in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet:
- If a Dawn Stone is given to a female Snorunt, the Ice-type Pokémon into the Ice- and Ghost-type Froslass.
- If a Dawn Stone is given to a male Kirlia, the Psychic- and Fairy-type Pokémon into the Psychic- and Fighting-type Gallade.
