Poltergeist Home Hits the Market 'without the Ghostly Antics'

Horror movie fans can now live out their wildest dreams as Poltergeist home has hit the market!

The 4-bedroom, 2-bathroom home is being sold by Lauren Murdock with Equity Union and is listed at $1,174,999. The home was the setting for a 1982 supernatural horror film directed by Tobe Hopper and co-produced by Steven Spielberg. TMZ first broke the news.

Aside from the house’s haunted history, the property has an even bigger draw – the house is now listed for the first time in 45 years.

Located at 4267 Roxbury Street, less than an hour outside of Los Angeles, the family’s Simi Valley, Calif., home “is home to much of the first film in the series,” according to an Equity Union release. The agency insists that “this house is clean.”

“We are interested in the property,” Murdock told PEOPLE of the 2,373-square-foot Ventura County home.

The house has a spacious living room with large windows that allow a lot of natural light.

As you travel upstairs, hopefully avoiding any ghosts, there are four bedrooms.

The master bedroom has stunning vaulted ceilings, plus a spacious en-suite bathroom that has a huge bath, double sinks, separate shower room and a large walk-in closet.

The remaining three bedrooms share a bathroom in the hallway.

Additionally, there is a three-car garage, giving the home plenty of storage options. There is also a large pool and jacuzzi in the yard, great for gatherings and family time.

“Besides, it’s much safer than building a portal to another dimension!” the list reads. “Don’t miss your chance to own this iconic piece of Hollywood history. It is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to live in a home with a story, without ghosts.”

Poltergeist follows the Freelings, a family of five who are terrorized by ghosts before their youngest child is taken by visitors from another world.

The 1982 film brought in $121.7 million at the box office. Two more films followed, including Poltergeist II: The Other Side in 1986 and Poltergeist III 1988. A remake was also released in 2015.
