Pony Verma aka Rashmi Verma was born on Thursday, September 15, 1977, in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India (age 45; as of 2022). She was born prematurely and had soft, wrinkled skin, so her grandmother gave her the name “Pony,” derived from the Punjabi word “Pona,” a kind of cloth used to store pancakes. Later, she changed her name to Pony Velma. Her zodiac sign is Virgo. She attended Scholars College and left school in 1993. She did her graduation from Prahladrai Dalmia Lions College. She went on to become a prominent choreographer in the Hindi, Tamil and Telugu film industries. She has loved dancing since she was a child and later became a professional choreographer.

She married popular actor Prakash Raj on August 24, 2010. They met on the set of a movie when Xiao Ma was arranging a song. She is his second wife. The couple has a son named Vedanth (born on February 3, 2016).

In an interview, she thanked Tamil film director Priyadarshan and cinematographer S. Kumar for their help in her initial years. Her debut as a choreographer was “Yeh Teraa Ghar Yeh Meraa Ghar” in 2000. She worked as a choreographer in the super hit Hindi film Hungama in 2003, Garam Masala in 2005, Bhool Bhulaiyaa in 2007, Chandni Chowk to China in 2009, and in 2010 He worked as a choreographer in “Guzaarish”, “Dirty Pictures” in 2011 and “Tiger Zinda Hai” in 2018. She worked as a choreographer in the 2011 Telugu film Badrinath and the 2008 Tamil film Abhiyum Naanum.

She works as a choreographer for the reality show “Ek Khiladi Ek Haseena” which is aired on Colors TV. She has served as a judge in the dance show Chak Dhoom Dhoom aired on Colors TV, alongside famous choreographers Saroj Khan and Bosco Caeser, in the dance reality show Bharat Ki Shan aired on Doordarshan and in Served as a judge in the fifth season of “Dance”.
