Pooja Sihag started wrestling at the age of eleven to stay fit. Gradually, the sport became her passion and she joined Alkesh Sports Academy in Haryana. In 2014, she made her international debut by participating in the Asian Youth Championships in Mongolia and winning a bronze medal in the wrestling championships.

Pooja later participated in the 2015 Asian Youth Championships in Myanmar and won a bronze medal. The following year, she again won a bronze medal at the Asian Junior Championships in Chinese Taipei. In 2017, she competed in the senior wrestling competition at the Commonwealth Games in South Africa and won a silver medal. In 2018, she won a silver medal at the Senior Commonwealth Championships in South Africa. In 2022, she won a bronze medal in the wrestling championship at the Bolat Turlykhanov CUP ranking series in Almaty, Kazakhstan.
