Prajwal Devaraj started his acting career as a child artist in the film Channappa Channegowda (1999). He made his starring debut in the Kannada film Sixer (2007), in which he portrayed the story of a teenager named Rahul who works for an underworld kingpin. He won the Suvarna Star Award for Best New Actor for his role in this film. His next film, Geleya (2007), in which he portrayed a character named Guru who works for an antisocial group, was a commercial success.
Some of his notable roles early in his career include VijayKumar in Meravanige (2008), Murali in Murali Meets Meera (2011), Subramanya Sastry in Super Shastri (2012) and Abhi movie Garat (2013).
He played an assistant director named Dev in the Kannada film Neenade Naa (2014), produced by Prajwal’s father Devaraj. His 25th film was “Bhujanga” (2016), in which he played the lead role of Bhujanga. A milestone in his career was the film “Chowka” (2017), in which he played one of the protagonists, a prisoner named Mohammad Anwar.
His performance as Bharath in the film Gentleman (2020) was well received by critics and audiences. He won the SIIMA Best Actor – Critics Award for this role.
Some other notable roles include Police Sub-Inspector Vikram in the action thriller Inspector Vikram (2021), Veeru in the film Veeram (2023) and Police Inspector Arvind Aswatthama in the film Tatsama Tadbhava (2023).
