Mandy Moore kicked off the summer with a fun family trip!
On Sunday, June 9, the actress (40) took to Instagram to share a series of photos from the family’s getaway at Carmel Valley Ranch in California.
“Obviously we had no fun at all on our first summer trip up north to stay at @carmelvranch,” she quipped in the caption. “I saw @whatsgabycookin stayed there a few months ago and she called it a family mecca and she wasn’t wrong.”
Moore continued, “I love that children and families here are not only accepted, but celebrated.”
In the photos, Moore is seen watching animals with her two sons and enjoying “roasting her own s’mores kits at night” β both perks she mentioned in the caption.
She added that “it’s also a great choice without your family,” and said she and her husband, Taylor Goldsmith, plan to return without their children, sons Augustus “Gus,” 3, and Oscar “Ozzie,” 19 months.

In the three photos, Moore wears a midi black dress with black sandals. One of the photos shows her in a navy blue swimsuit with a yellow hat while hugging her son in a blue and white striped towel, while another shows her in gray pajamas while hugging her sons.

The star continued to post about her vacation on her Instagram Stories, where she shared additional details about the ranch as well as nearby attractions.

She wrote that the luxury resort has animals including goats, sheep, llamas, “mini donkeys and cows”. They could also watch the goat being milked. “The boys were in heaven,” she said.

The family also visited the Monterey Bay Aquarium and the Carmel Fire Station in downtown Carmel-by-the-Sea, California.
The ranch prides itself on its activities, writing on its site, “Carmel Valley Ranch is a place for young people to grow up, where people can truly play – throwing caution to the wind, listening to their inner child, looking for pure, absolute fun.”

Last month, on May 31, Moore and Goldsmith announced they were expecting a baby girl in a joint Instagram post.

“Sometimes life imitates art. The third in our Big Three is coming soon,” the couple captioned the post, referring to Moore’s on-screen children in This is us.
“I can’t wait for these boys to get a baby sister. πππ,” they added.
Earlier this month, Moore spoke with PEOPLE about the glamorous parts of motherhood.
“I feel very lucky that my boys are not super squirmy,” she said. “They recognize [that] I’ve always been that mom who’s like, ‘Look, I’m going to pick up your grandma and I’m going to slather you with moisturizer from the tub.’ That’s all they ever learned from me.”
