Preity G. Zinta was born in Shimla on January 31, 1975 and grew up in Rohru, Shimla. She developed a keen interest in playing basketball during her childhood. She completed her boarding school education at the Convent Boarding School of Jesus and Mary, Shimla, Himachal Pradesh and Lawrence School, Solan Sanava, Himachal Pradesh. She graduated with honors in English from St Bede’s College, Shimla, and received a master’s degree in criminal psychology.
