In 2010, encouraged by several professional YouTube friends, she created her own YouTube channel. The first video she uploaded was of her volunteering at a Duwamish River cleanup in honor of Earth Day 2011.
That same year, she started a cooking show, “Nerdy Nummies”, on her channel; the first video she uploaded was of her baking a “Super Mario Cake”.
Nerdy Nummies is all about showcasing baking creations that resemble characters and items from video games, TV shows, anime, books, and movies. Nerdy Nummies became a huge success and became a popular baking show on YouTube. The show even earned four Streamy Awards nominations. Initially, when she created the channel, she used to film and edit on her own. Now, she works with a team of seven people, including her parents who serve as office managers and her sister who helps her with filming full-time and has become an important figure in the show. In 2015, she released her debut single “Perfect Together”, produced by American video editor, singer, songwriter and musician Kurt Hugo Schneider. The song was originally released on iTunes and its music video was released later that year.
She published her first book, The Nerdy Nummies Cookbook, in 2015. The book features recipes from her show Nerdy Nummies, as well as some recipes that have never been featured on the show.
