Prince Harry Joins ‘It’s Always Sunny’ Stars Glenn Howerton and Rob McElhenney at Lionel Messi’s Game

McElhenney previously met the prince’s father King Charles III before a Wrexham FC game in December

Prince Harry encountered two funny faces at Sunday’s soccer match between Inter Miami CF and Los Angeles FC.

Harry (38) hung out and took photos with It’s always sunny in Philadelphia stars Glenn Howerton and Rob McElhenney at the game at BMO Stadium in Los Angeles. Howerton, 47, shared a snap of the trio on Instagram on Monday.

“Great to see Harry and some of my favorite club owners Bill and Bob last night at @lafc v @intermiamicf,” Howerton wrote, adding: “Seeing @leomessi play live: wow.”

Howerton’s post also includes a photo of him with Will Ferrell, who Harry also hung out with during the game. AND video shared on Major League Soccer’s official Twitter account, now known as X, captured Ferrell, 56, walking up to the royal family and shaking his hand, before the pair engaged in a brief but lively chat.

Harry and McElhenney, 46, probably also had plenty to talk about, as the actor and Ryan Reynolds co-own Welsh football team Wrexham. The pair famously bought the “historic but struggling” club in February 2021 and often travel across the pond to watch the team’s games. Harry’s father, King Charles, also met McElhenney. The King, accompanied by his wife Queen Camilla, visited Wrexham’s home stadium, the Racecourse Ground, in December 2022. The royal couple were personally escorted onto the pitch by McElhenney and Reynolds, 46. At Sunday’s game, Harry appeared to be flying alone as there was no sign of wife Meghan Markle with him. He laughed heartily with the person sitting next to him.

Harry joined a star-studded crowd – which also included Leonardo DiCaprio, Owen Wilson, Jason Sudeikis and Selena Gomez – as he watched Messi, 36, lead his team to a 3-1 win against Los Angeles. In July, the legend of Argentine football made his debut for Inter Miami, which is co-owned by David Beckham.

The royal father of two had an eventful weekend. Harry’s soccer jaunt comes after he and Meghan performed at Beyoncé’s Renaissance World Tour concert at LA’s SoFi Stadium on Friday night. In a fan photo posted on xthe couple — who were joined by Meghan’s mom, Doria Ragland — could be seen watching the concert from a private box.
