The announcement comes just over a month after Little Sister had to cancel their European tour dates so their bandleader, 51, could undergo emergency surgery “immediately”.

“Queens are pissed off, we can’t play for you,” they wrote alongside the post. “We apologize for the inconvenience and share your frustration and disappointment.”

In addition to the title, Queens of the Stone Age shared a note that read: “QOTSA regrets to announce that Josh Homme must return to the United States immediately for emergency surgery. Every effort has been made to push through and play for you, but it is no longer an option for continuation.”

The “Mosquito Song” group also added that festival ticket holders should “visit the specific festival website for updated information.”

“Ticket holders for the main shows will be contacted directly from the point of purchase with additional information,” the notice concluded.
