Raj Singh Chaudhary was born in Darjeeling, West Bengal, India. According to one source, he was born on July 13, 1975 (age 48; as of 2022), and according to another source, he was born on July 23, 1975 (age 48; as of 2022). He studied at Goethals Memorial School, Kurseong, Darjeeling and later at Delhi Public School, RK Puram, New Delhi. He graduated in 1995 with a degree in Software Engineering from BMS College of Engineering, Bangalore, Karnataka. He decided to pursue an MBA in the United States and was admitted; however, he did not study abroad.

Payment Problems
In 2012, he was embroiled in controversy while shooting for the Rajasthani film Mere Des Main, directed by Arif Hameed and starring Madhurima Tuli, in Indore. He said that when he asked for payment after filming, he was told it would take another 40 days of filming to receive payment, and he lost two films as a result. He also claimed that he received only half of his salary and refused to dub for the film. He accused producer Ravindra Bishnoi of luring him into the film on the pretext of false promises as Raj was told that Swanand Kirkire would served as the film’s lyricist; however, he later discovered that was not the case. When he found out that Ravindra was looking for another artist to dub his character, he threatened that he would not give a No Objection Certificate (NOC) and would lodge a formal complaint with the Indian Film and Television Artistes Association (CINTAA) if they Promoting the film through dubbing with the help of any artist other than him will result in prosecution in the local courts. Responding to the accusations, Ravindra said that there were some issues with payment; however, he would be doing the dubbing by Raj himself.
