Husamuddin was the youngest of six brothers. His brothers Etheshamuddin and Itishmuddin were both professional boxers. Mohammad Husamuddin spoke about his family in an interview and said:
My whole family is into boxing, that’s my background. My father was a coach, my brothers were into boxing and I started at a very young age. I don’t think having a boxer in the house adds to the pressure. It actually gave me a lot of support, whether it was from my dad or my brothers because five of our six brothers had been into boxing so they got it.”

In 2009, Mohammad Husamuddin made his professional boxing debut at the National Youth Championship in Aurangabad. He won a bronze medal in the competition. That same year, he won a gold medal at the Senior National Championships. In 2012, Husamuddin’s former coach and father Shamsuddin decided to send him to Havana, Cuba for further training. Later that year, Mohammad Hussamuddin competed in the 2012 Tammer Championships in Finland and the Youth World Championships in Yerevan, Armenia. Husamuddin subsequently won gold and silver medals at the Military World Boxing Championships in South Korea and the Gee Bee Boxing Championships in Helsinki, Finland, in 2015.
Husamuddin has won medals in many events such as the 68th Strandja Memorial Championships in Bulgaria (2017), the Indian International Open Boxing Championships in New Delhi (2018), the Asian Games (2018) and the 69th Strandja Memorial Championships in Bulgaria. In 2018, he won a bronze medal at the Commonwealth Games in Bulgaria. In the same year, he participated in the Asian Games in Jakarta.
In an interview, he shared his experience participating in various competitions and said,
What has changed this time is that I think I have a lot more knowledge after playing a lot of tournaments and against different opponents. I feel better prepared in terms of what strategies to use against which fighters and what to do in the moment. In the past, I only relied on speed, but now my strength has also improved. “
In 2022, he participated in the Commonwealth Games. He competes as a southpaw and competes in the men’s featherweight division.
