Lisa Gastineau (D’Amico), his first wife, was found as a teenage model in her early years. The University of Alabama graduate studied broadcasting and communications. She met her then husband Mark Gastineau when she was 19 years old. They married in 1979 and their only child, Brittny Gastineau, was born on November 11, 1982. They subsequently divorced in 1986.
While still married to Lisa, Gastineau announced his engagement to actress Brigitte Nielsen in 1988, and then fathered her son, Killian Gastineau. Gastineau, a former NFL All-Pro, emerged from the divorce proceedings with no assets after his was ordered by the court to pay 85 weeks of child support and other obligations. His ex-wife was granted a divorce on the grounds of cruelty and received a portion of Mark’s $500,000 taken from the Jets after his departure in 1988. As a result of their divorce settlement, Lisa Gastineau (D’Amico) received $430,000 for their property and $18,500 a year for maintenance and child support.
