Rajeev Khandelwal was born on October 16, 1975 in Jaipur, Rajasthan, India (age 43 in 2018). He was educated at Kendriya Vidyalaya in Jaipur and attended St. Xavier’s College in Ahmedabad where he received a bachelor’s degree in chemistry. Khandelwal performed in a stage show when he was in third grade. From here, he became interested in acting.
When Rajeev was in class 9, he auditioned for Punjab Doordarshan and got selected. Unfortunately, he couldn’t appear on the show as it was a three-month outdoor shoot and his father wouldn’t approve. Coming from a military family, it was not easy for him to enter the television industry. Rajiv even gave up hopes of acting for a time and decided to join the army. But his form was rejected.
In his last year at college, he was kicked out of his home because of his ambiguous personality. He was so annoyed by this incident that he went to Delhi and stayed with a few drivers in his cousin’s friend’s apartment. Khandelwal began his career making documentaries and writing screenplays.
Before making his television debut, Rajeev worked as a model for brands like LML, Green Label Whiskey and Videocon.
