Rajeev Verma made his acting debut in 1987 in the television serial “Chaunauti” aired on DD National channel. In 1988, he appeared in the TV series “Mujrim Haazir” aired on Doordarshan. The play is adapted from the novel Asami Hazir by Bimal Mitra. He made a guest appearance in the detective crime drama Suraag – The Clue (1999) aired on DD National. In 2002, he essayed the role of Vijay Singhania in Lipstick, aired on Zee TV.

Congress leaders Narendra Singh Saluja and Kamal Nath at the office of the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO-MP) in Bhopal in April 2019 A complaint was filed against Rajeev Verma. In their petition, they have sought the removal of Rajiv Verma as a national icon from the Madhya Pradesh Election Commission. They alleged that Verma was associated with an arts organization called Sanskar Bharati, which they claimed was affiliated with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).
