Hariharan is a famous Indian playback and ghazal singer. He is best known for voicing the Hindi version of the song “Uyire Uyire”, which was renamed “Tu Hi Re”, from the film Bombay (1995).

Hariharan was born on April 3, 1955 as Hariharan Anantha Subramani (68 years old; as of 2023) in Thiruvananthapuram, Cochin, Travancore, India. His zodiac sign is Aries. He graduated from SIES College, Mumbai. He holds bachelor’s degrees in science and law. He studied with the famous musician Ustad Ghulam Mustafa Khan.

At the beginning of his career, he toured concerts and performed on television. In 1977, he won the top prize in the All-India Sur Singaar Competition. His debut song was “Ajeeb Saneha Mujh Par Gujar Gaya Yaron” from the 1978 film Gaman.

He has sung more than 500 Tamil songs and nearly 200 Hindi songs. One of Hariharan’s earliest Gazal albums was ‘Aabshar-e-Ghazal’, which he produced in 1985 with Asha Bhosle.
In 1996, he formed a band called “Colonial Cousins” with Lesle Lewis. The band’s first musical album was Colonial Cousins, a fusion album.
