For someone who has gone all out for Halloween displays in her home for “the last seven years,” Jackson was still inspired by the series. “I thought, ‘I’m going to make skeletons from Utah’!”

Before doing so, Jackson — who is not part of the LDS community — says she first got her temperature taken from her neighbors. “I didn’t want to upset them,” she notes, adding that they thought the idea was “hilarious.”

After Jackson got the go-ahead, she began what would become her DIY project for the next two weeks. “I chose the eyelashes, the lips, the hair, and then the Swig cups because everyone here drinks dirty juices,” she says of the important elements she created for the decor.

Swig is a popular soda shop in Utah that has grown in popularity since The Secret Lives of Mormon Women where they share their “dirty soda” orders.

They’ve become a mocktail mainstay in the state probably because Utah has a large population of Mormons, who tend not to drink alcohol and coffee and instead enjoy sugary drinks.

“It’s almost like a soda cafe, except there’s going to be a lot more sugar involved,” Jackson tells PEOPLE of Swig, where she bought several 44-ounce cups to complement her assortment of skeletons with eyelashes and wigs.

Since one of the skeletons is 12 feet tall, Jackson made a sippy cup out of a plastic container and two huge pieces of poster board. “Then I actually bought pool noodles for a straw,” she says.
