Randhir Raj Kapoor was born on Saturday, February 15, 1947 in Kimbur (now Mumbai), Bombay Presidency, British India. He is 76 years old as of 2023. His zodiac sign is Aquarius. Before the partition of India, his family moved to Bombay from Kapoor Haveli in Peshawar (now in Pakistan) to pursue a career in acting. Randall’s father, Raj Kapoor, was an Indian actor and film producer who died in 1988; his mother, Krishna Kapoor, was a housewife. Died in 2018. He has two sisters, Reema Jain and Ritu Nanda (deceased), and two brothers, Rajiv Kapoor, Indian actor and film producer Rishi Kapoor, an Indian actor and filmmaker, died of leukemia on April 30, 2020.

On November 6, 1971, Randall married his long-time partner, actress Babita Kapoor, in a grand ceremony. They have two daughters, Kareena Kapoor and Karisma Kapoor, both actors. In the 1980s, Randhir and his wife Babita’s married life began to encounter some obstacles, which eventually led to their separation for a period of time. However, the couple reunited in 2007.
Other relatives Randhir Kapoor is one of the grandsons of actor and producer Prithviraj Kapoor and the grandnephew of actor Trilok Kapoor. Randhir Kapoor’s nephews are actors Ranbir Kapoor, Adar Jain and Aman Jain, and businessman Nikhil Nanda.

Randhir first appeared as a child artist in the films Shree 420 (1955) and Do Ustad (1959). Randhir Kapoor made his acting and directorial debut with the film Kal Aaj Aur Kal (1971), starring his wife, father and grandfather. The film performed mediocre at the box office.
In 1972, Randhir did three films back-to-back, namely “Jeet”, “Rampur Ka Lakshman” and “Jawani Diwani”.
The film in which he played the title role, Rickshaw (1973), was a remake of MGR’s hit film Rickshaw (1971), opposite new heroine Neetu Singh; the film was a flop. After 1987’s Khazana, he didn’t appear in films for a decade.
In 1997, Kapoor returned to acting after 10 years with the film “Ladies Only”.

Randhir Kapoor started working on the film Henna (1991) with his father Raj Kapoor in 1988; Randhir took over the film as director after his father’s death. Starring actor Rishi Kapoor and Pakistani actress Zeba Bakhtiar, the film was a huge success. In 1996, he produced “Prem Granth” starring Madhuri Dixit and Rishi Kapoor; in 1999, he produced “Aa Ab Laut Chale” starring Aishwarya Rai and Akshay Khanna.

He worked as an assistant director on the film Jhuk Gya Aasman (1968) starring Rajendra Kumar. He later directed “Kal Aaj Aur Kal” in 1971, which was also his debut as an actor, followed by “Dharam Karam” in 1975 and “Henna” in 1991.
