These lines could change how you see colour if you stare at them a while
This is due to an effect called the McCollough effect, that causes your eyes to think that black and white grids are actually coloured.
In order to recreate the phenomenon, you need to stare at the coloured grates equally for three minutes or so.
The look at the black and white grid below.
After a while the black and white lines will appear with a pink tinge.

If you stare at this grid after looking at the green and red lines, it will effect how you see colour
For some people the effect was so strong that they saw black and white as red and green up to three months later, this is known as the contingent aftereffect.
Apparently you can create the reverse effect by rotating the original image 90 degrees clockwise… give it a go and see what you think.
