Guerdy Abraira has many reasons to celebrate!
Six months later The Real Housewives of Miami star first shared her cancer diagnosis in May, she confirmed at BravoCon 2023 over the weekend that she is officially cancer-free.
Abraira told PEOPLE during the three-day affair that the positive update was her “last hurray at the end of the tunnel.”
“I have two more rounds of radiation,” she explained. “Like entering these rooms [at BravoCon]meeting the fans and them saying ‘You’re that hero’ — or she-ro — it’s amazing.”

Recalling how she learned of the good news, Abraira said she “lived” in St. Barts one day and “sobbing” the next after getting the call that changed her life.
“That’s life. There are ups and downs,” she admitted. “You never know when you will fall and you never know when you will rise. And today is my day of ascent. My life is now back to normal. And I want to stay that way.”
Through it all, the Bravo star credited the continued care and support of her husband, Russell Abrira, for making her cancer journey easier.

“I just don’t even know how he did it because nobody saw it coming, and here’s cancer knocking on your door, and you don’t know if you’re going to make it,” she said. “He’s the best guard I could ever ask for. Not only that, he’s very good looking.”
She added: “He was a good nurse. But, you know, it really shows how nothing matters in life except family and love and support and your health.”
Guerdy also teased that Russell, who she has been married to for almost 21 years, will find herself in a lot of drama during RHOMis the sixth season while supporting her. “Honey, he said, ‘Respect,’ you know who,” she teased.
Guerdy announced that she is cancer free during RHOMBravoCon panel on Saturday.
“I’m officially cancer-free. I’m going to ring the radiation bell on Wednesday, so that’s exciting too… I’m very excited and I’m so blessed,” she said. “I literally wake up every morning counting my blessings and making them count. Remember that, make them count.”
Of choosing to be vulnerable about her cancer journey on reality TV, she said: “I was told that I know I’m going to get treatment and eventually I’m going to be fine, but we’re going to go through a tough time. And for me, I said to myself , ‘If I can show the good and the bad, then that’s just better.'”
“A lot of people with cancer feel like they have the plague and they don’t want to share, they feel like there’s something wrong with them and they hide,” she continued. “And I said to myself, ‘I’m not going to do it. I’m not going to go out like that.’
