The Real Housewives of Potomac the newcomer and the three-time Super Bowl champion got engaged in August and are busy preparing for their big day. The two tell PEOPLE exclusively that they are considering a May date and are planning a Dallas wedding.
“I’m looking forward to just focusing on my future husband and being thankful for who we are. Relationships aren’t easy, and we lived in different states for most of the early stages of our relationship,” Rideaux says. “So, I’m looking forward to soaking it all in.” and look absolutely stunning in my photos, but also that I will be able to hang out with my friends and family and celebrate love. The couple is also planning a joint bachelor/bachelorette party.
“We’re not going to do everything together, but we’re planning to have a joint, and the reason why is, hey, my friends are better planners, and he’ll be ticked off if he misses the private jet that we are and all the other festivities,” Rideaux says. “I say, ‘Honey, come on. You can join us’.”

She adds, “Darius and I were just looking at our friend groups and how much fun we have together… And to be honest, I don’t want my man to miss out on any of the bachelor and bachelorette parties. I want to make sure that he really feels supported and that there’s also a great bachelor.”
Rideaux — who stars in Season 9 of the show RHOP along with housewives Dr. Wendy Osefo, Karen Huger, Gizelle Bryant, Ashley Darby, Mia Thornton, Stacey Rusch and Keiarna Stewart, as well as friend Jacqueline Blake — says the girls will be joining in the celebration.
“The ladies are definitely invited to my wedding. I mean, you think I’m going to miss a moment not to shine in front of these girls?” the Bravo star tells PEOPLE. “There will be a select few invited to my bachelorette party as well.”
Rideaux, who is the CEO of Chateau Rideaux Inc. and Rideaux Hair, says she has a glamorous beauty plan for brides that is “all hands on deck.” I’ll have my custom designer, whose name is Sheraz Pompey, who’s designed a lot of my outfits this season, you’ll see some of them I’ll have him all on deck with his sewing machine so we don’t have any mishaps.”

She also reveals that she will have “at least three dresses” that her style curator will direct her designer to make.
“I’m one of those girls who loves a custom-designed dress,” Rideaux tells PEOPLE. “I mean, I’m going to need a wedding dress, I’m going to need something for the reception, and you have to throw an extra wedding dress in there. I mean, just in case I want to change and go from higher dresses to lower dresses or things like that, I just want to have my options on available.”
“There will be no room for any mishaps on my wedding day,” she says.
In August, Harris surprised Rideaux with a birthday celebration that ended with a romantic marriage proposal witnessed by close family and friends, most of whom flew in for the special moment.
“Just to walk into a room with so much love and so much importance to you on a special day, not just your birthday, but the day everyone knew you were going to be proposed to, that’s just the chef’s kiss,” says Rideaux. “A chef’s kiss. I couldn’t ask for a better deal.”
The Dallas Cowboys linebacker bought Rideaux a white dress from Bloomingdale’s and told her he was taking her to dinner at Kitchen + Kocktails to celebrate her birthday, which was two days before. When he blindfolded her, Rideaux knew a surprise was coming, but it ended up being “much more than [she] could ever imagine.”

“It was raining. It was all over my hair, but I wasn’t even worried about it. I was like, ‘OK, he’s so cute and so romantic,’ and I just love every bit of it,” Rideaux says. Once I walked into this quiet room, there was every single person who had helped me on my life’s journey, who had been there for me from college, through youth, to adulthood. Even some of my co-workers and one of my newest members who’s on the show with me, and everyone I love sat in this room holding white roses waiting to give me one of the most thoughtful, beautiful things anyone has ever done for me. ”
“I mean, I cry when I think how much thought went into it,” she continues. “My pictures and photos were all over the place, and the table was just beautifully set and all color-coordinated. I thought, ‘The detail of everything.’ It was amazing. Even the thought of it brings me so much joy.”
Harris got down on one knee and proposed with a round, custom 3.5-carat diamond ring that sits in a halo surrounded by multiple diamonds and “looks like a spotlight.”
“A guy said to me, ‘Your ring is kind of scary,’ and I said, ‘I think that’s what he wanted,'” Rideaux says.
He jokes, “I’m part of the circle now,” referring to Harris’ three Super Bowl rings from his time with the Kansas City Chiefs.
She can’t wait to marry the NFL star.
“His commitment to our relationship, the way he lifts me up, makes me feel like I can conquer anything,” Rideaux told her fiancé.

Rideaux adds that he loves Harris’ “His unwavering support.”
“Just the calm strength that he brings to every aspect of our lives,” she continues. “Whether it’s on the field, he just leads with humility and dedication, and that alone really inspires me every day. He’s incredibly thoughtful, always making sure I feel valued and loved, even in some of the most tumultuous times.”

The newly engaged couple are now starting to think about their honeymoon. They’re hoping to go somewhere Rideaux hasn’t been, which could be difficult considering she spent the last decade as an international flight attendant.
“We’re hoping that the show doesn’t really get tangled up in a way that we have to move the dates around,” says Rideaux. “But we talked about honeymooning in Singapore. We also talked about possibly Bali. Those are two of the few places I haven’t actually been.”
