Recent allegations against Ricky Martin accused him of having an inappropriate relationship with his nephew, Dennis Yadiel Sanchez. This is a new development following allegations of domestic abuse that surfaced online earlier this month. Marca, a Spanish news site, revealed the new complaint, claiming it came from Martin’s 21-year-old nephew. The musician and his nephew were allegedly in a relationship for seven months, according to the newspaper. According to gossip, the alleged romance ended two months ago. If the incest allegations are proven true, Martin could face up to 50 years in prison under Puerto Rican law.
What did Ricky Martin’s agent have to say about the allegations?
Ricky Martin’s lawyer criticized the person who accused the artist of such behavior after Marca published the accusation. According to his agents, DailyMail.com:
“Unfortunately, the person who made this claim has serious mental health issues. Ricky Martin, of course, has never been – and never will be – in a sexual or romantic relationship with his nephew.”
The spokesman went on to say:
“The idea is not only false, but also repulsive. We all hope this person gets the help he really needs.”
Ricky Martin’s older brother, rock musician Eric Martin, identified the victim as their nephew Dennis Yadiel Sanchez, according to Marca. However, it is not clear why the 61-year-old, named Sanchez, was the victim of Martin’s alleged attack. So far, neither brother has commented on the current allegations between Martin and his nephew. Furthermore, it is uncertain whether the words spoken by the said representative were directed at Eric Martin.
Meanwhile, Ricky Martin addressed previous domestic abuse allegations against him in early July. The 50-year-old Puerto Rican posted on Twitter:
“Since the protection order issued against me is based on completely false allegations, I will respond in court with the truth and dignity that define me. I am unable to make any comprehensive comments at this time due to the ongoing court proceedings. I am grateful for the many words of support, which I accept with open arms.”
Netizens react to Ricky Martin’s relationship rumors with his nephew.
Following the allegations, scores of Twitter users took to the site to express their anger. Some even mocked the circumstance by referencing Martin’s 1999 hit Livin’ la Vida Loca. The jokes were about the title of the song in English, which roughly means “Live a crazy life”. They compared the translation to Martin’s current situation, in which he is suspected of engaging in an improper and illegal relationship with his 21-year-old nephew.
Some tweets mocked the singer’s performance of the song and refused to recognize it. Instead, they recognized the song Livin’ La Vida Loca, performed by Eddie Murphy and Antonio Banderas’ characters in 2004’s Shrek 2. Several tweets even sarcastically credited the two celebrities with creating said music. So far, there is no confirmation of Martin’s alleged relationship with his nephew. Neither Puerto Rican sources nor nephew Dennis Yadiel Sanchez have responded to the allegations.
Don’t look why Ricky Martin is trending. You’re happier not knowing.
Now some of you are thinking, “I can handle that. I’ll look for it and I’ll be fine.” It won’t be good for you. don’t do that
Close Twitter, log out and enjoy life. I’m begging.
