The wedding of director Taiko Waititi and singer-songwriter Rita Ora has finally been announced. Waititi and Ora have a 15 year age gap. On January 27, 2023, Ora confirmed the news on British Heart Breakfast, saying that she was releasing a new song inspired by her place in life and that she knew she would be questioned. She noted that the wedding went smoothly and continued:
“It’s just what I wanted. It’s really amazing and amazing, exactly what I was hoping for. Sorry, not very exciting. One day we’ll have a big celebration.”

Taika Waititi and Rita Ora have known each other for a long time, until 2021 rumors of both dating. Then, when Ora posted a photo of herself with Waititi, she caused a stir. The two were photographed enjoying their trip to Australia with Tessa Thompson. Waititi and Ora then made their first public appearance as a couple in 2021, at the premiere of Suicide Squad. Ora also shared photos from Waititi’s 46th birthday, where she delivered a cake to him.
They appeared on the Met Gala red carpet again in 2021, and the following year, Waititi said he and Ora had been dating for a year. Waititi was seen wearing and fixing Ora’s outfit at the Vanity Fair Oscar Party in March 2022. They were seen together in England at the Wimbledon tennis final. Several websites claimed the couple secretly tied the knot in a private wedding ceremony and Ora said she loves Waititi while speaking on the Greatest Night Ever podcast.
She continued,
“I’ve always wanted a fairy tale, I loved it growing up. For me, it’s always been finding love and a life partner, so I’m glad I did. Taika is my favorite character. “Thanks, Taika!”
Watiti and Ora co-host the MTV Europe Music Awards in November 2022 and told Vogue they were friends before dating. As said earlier, the age difference between the two is 15 years old, Ora is 32 years old and her husband is 47 years old.

Rita Ora dated DJ Calvin Harris for a year and was in a relationship with musician Andrew Watt for three years. Meanwhile, Taika Waititi was married to Loren Horsley before marrying Chelsea Winstanley in 2011. Waititi and Winstanley had two children together before divorcing in 2018.
Taika Waititi’s next projects include sports comedy-drama Next Goal Wins, starring Michael Fassbender. Rita Ora has so far released two albums, 21 singles and two EPs.
